Thank you to those people who gave up their time to attend this meeting.
As I said at the outset I wanted to gather together at least one person from each team to contribute to forming the future direction of IT in our school. The fact that there were more attendees than I expected was extremely encourgaing. Also, we now have several teachers that are interested in exploring Web 2.0 technology and trying out whiteboards/data projectors in their classes to improve, enhance, inspire and assist in providing and facilitating exciting, learner-relevant education. I want to reiterate that this has come about not because of a "management directive", but as a result of me seeing the big picture of how not only children, but teachers at Westbrook can benefit from current technology practices. I truly feel that we are falling behind other schools in the area of IT and am taking the "bull (not cow) by the horns".
QUESTION: What do we do when a new resource in reading or maths or Phys Ed is introduced to us? Do we ignore it or trial it or ask for help to learn to use it? Isn't keeping up to date with new resources part of being a teacher.
